Advanced UPRT
In recent years it has been shown that undesirable flight conditions with the loss of control of the aircraft are one of the main risk factors which can lead to aviation accidents. For this reason, it is necessary to prepare pilots as well as possible for dangerous situations so that they can safely manage undesirable states of flight or loss of control.
The aim of the training is to increase the ability of pilots to recognize and avoid situations that can lead to undesired aircraft states. It also improves the ability to regain control of an aircraft that has exceeded normal flight conditions.
This is achieved by increasing awareness of potential disruptive situations as well as knowledge of flight dynamics and the application of this knowledge during the training scenarios.
The training course
Theory
The aim of the theoretical knowledge course as part of the advanced UPRT according to FCL.745 is to prepare student pilots for UPRT in aircraft.
- Aerodynamics
- Causes of and contributing factors to disorders
- Detection of excitement
- Undesired aircraft states.
- G-load awareness and management.
- Energy management.
- Trajectory management.
- Threat and Error management.
- Human factors.
The course consists of 5:00 hours of theoretical lessons.
Practice
- Understanding basic aerodynamics and flight dynamics.
- Understanding angle of attack and energy management within the aircraft flight envelope.
- Applying theoretical knowledge to the prevention and restoration of disturbances caused by the environment, aircraft systems or pilots.
- G-force training is provided to highlight the effects of the physiological aspects of G-force (positive / negative / lateral) with the effects of G-force induced blackout.
- Develop awareness of the early detection of potentially dangerous flight conditions
- IInformation and techniques to bring the aircraft back under control
The advanced UPRT course includes 3:00 hours of flight training.
