ATPL(A), Airline Transport Pilot License

Are you interested in one of the most demanding, exciting, and fulfilling training programs of our time—training to become a commercial pilot?
Then you have come to the right place.

We would be delighted to support you in this endeavor. Our aviation company has already helped hundreds of aviation enthusiasts land their dream jobs, and our graduates fly for the world’s leading airlines. Our training facility is run by active commercial pilots. This means we know exactly what airlines are looking for and structure our training programs to ensure you are optimally prepared for your future workplace in the cockpit of a modern commercial aircraft.

With us as industry experts at your side, you benefit not only from our know-how and expertise, but above all from the advantages of our location and our modern fleet.

We provide training on modern and safe aircraft that are considered the safest aircraft in general aviation.

  • Großteil der Flotte ist mit EFIS (u. a. Garmin 500) ausgestattet
  • Our instructors are among the most experienced pilots in the industry.
  • All instrument approach training can be conducted directly at the home airport. This eliminates unnecessary positioning flights.
  • Hanover Airport is open around the clock.
  • Convenient location directly at the GAT
  • General aviation-friendly air traffic control
  • Affordable accommodation in Hanover (from 27 Euros/day)
  • Modern teaching concept for theory with convenient distance learning (including 3 weeks of classroom instruction and 24-hour support during theory training)
  • Easily accessible by public transportation
  • Free parking at GAT for our students

Organization of the training program

We offer modular ATPL training. The advantage for you is that you enjoy maximum flexibility throughout the entire training program. You can start carrying passengers on cost-price flights very early on, and a flying vacation, for example in the USA, can also be easily integrated into the training program. Any previous experience you may already have can also be fully recognized.

Theory courses ATPL (A)

There are basically only two theory exams during the training program: the PPL theory exam at the beginning of the training and later the ATPL theory exam. The final exam (ATPL theory) covers the components of instrument flight rating and the CPL.

As part of the PPL training, you must pass 9 subjects at EASA PPL level. For example, you will acquire extensive skills in meteorology (many people talk about the weather – you will know what the weather will be like), navigation, and aircraft knowledge. For the theoretical training, we use a modern distance learning course in cooperation with Cranfield Aviation Training School GmbH in Dortmund. You can work from the comfort of your own home, safe in the knowledge that you have access to our experienced instructors at all times, who will guide you competently through the training. The distance learning course is completed with a 3-day live seminar, which we can offer you via Zoom or Teams.

The pass rate for the PPL course has been 100% in recent months.

Once the PPL has been issued by the authorities, you will begin your theoretical ATPL training. For this, we also use a modern distance learning course in collaboration with Cranfield Aviation Training School GmbH in Dortmund. The teaching materials are available as WBT, as eBooks, and optionally also as printed books. Extensive video material is available for many topics. The required classroom instruction (3 x 1 week) is also conducted entirely digitally via Zoom. We have divided the ATPL course into 3 blocks, with a study period of 3 months planned for each block. After each block, a partial examination is held at the examination authority. This can be, for example, the Federal Aviation Authority or AustroControl.

Our students also achieve a 100% pass rate in the ATPL course over many months.

Practical training ATPL (A)

The modular ATPL training is broadly divided into the following training sections:

  • Acquisition of a private pilot license (PPL-A)
  • Start of theoretical ATPL training
  • Hour accumulation phase (building up flight experience)
  • Acquisition the night flight rating
  • Acquisition of the Instrument Rating (IR)
  • Acquisition of the multi-engine (ME) rating
  • Acquisition of commercial pilot license (CPL with ATPL credit)

After completing the training, you will receive the frozen ATPL. With this license, you can apply to all European airlines. After being hired, or in advance if desired, the frozen ATPL can be expanded to include the MCC (multi-crew concept) component and a type rating for a commercial aircraft (e.g., Airbus A320 or Boeing 737). This is no longer part of the actual ATPL training—however, we can still provide you with comprehensive support in this area.
